MISS Universe Zimbabwe board chairperson, Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga, expressed the nation’s pride in Sakhile Dube’s impressive top 30 finish at the Miss Universe finals.

Dube, captivated audiences worldwide as she advanced to the top 30 out of 127 contestants. Although she did not secure the coveted title, Dube garnered widespread admiration for her graceful representation of Zimbabwe and her celebration of the country’s rich heritage.

Baloyi-Chiwenga shared her sentiments at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport. “We are incredibly proud of Sakhile’s achievement of placing in the top 30, especially considering that many pageant powerhouses did not make it,” she said. “This milestone marks the beginning of a pageant revival in Zimbabwe. Sakhile carried the hopes and dreams of every young Zimbabwean girl who aspires to be a model. While we had high hopes for a top-12 finish, we still celebrate her remarkable accomplishment.”

Baloyi-Chiwenga encouraged Dube to remain steadfast and pursue her dreams. “We hope that Sakhile will continue to strive for greatness. Talent scouts were present in Mexico, and everyone was impressed by Zimbabwe. Regardless of nationality, people now recognize the beauty of Zimbabwe through Sakhile,” she added.

Dube expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming love and support from Zimbabweans. “I want to thank everyone for their support. The love and encouragement were truly overwhelming. It’s rare for Zimbabwe to receive international attention, but your love and support made it possible,” she said.
