Former students of Zimuto High School in Masvingo have mobilised resources to help the school in its quest to access clean water and ameliorate sanitation.

The former students last Thursday drove to the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe-run school where they handed over a newly-drilled borehole to the school authorities, represented by the head Harris Mashava.

Medical doctors Nyasha Masuka, who is the former Harare Central Hospital CEO and Medical and Dental Private Practitioners Zimbabwe Association president Johannes Marisa lead the alumni comprising of Zimuto Old Students Association Action Group and class of 1991 .

“We as former students of Zimuto High in Masvingo upon realising the school was getting dry because of drought, we pooled resources and drilled a borehole,” said Marisa, who fronts the Zimuto Old Students Association Action Group.

“We handed over the borehole today [Thursday] to the school headed by Mr Mashava. We thank Mr Magunda [Taurai], the senior teacher and the school head for allowing us to be involved in the development of the school. Zimuto always has a high pass rate.”

Other members of the action group are Collin Rimai, Gideon Mavise, Temba Chinogwenya, Grace Muchuchuti and Edna Gurajena.

Mashava thanked former students of one of the oldest schools in Masvingo.
