Foreign promoters jostle for Feli Nandi

Feli Nandi is the female musician of the moment as evidenced by her recent winning of the Outstanding Female Musician gong, her first accolade at the National Arts Merits Awards.

MULTI AWARD-WINNING Afro-jazz musician and fashion designer Felistus Chipendo, aka Feli Nandi, is becoming the darling of many, with foreign music promoters jostling for her to perform overseas.

Feli Nandi is the female musician of the moment as evidenced by her recent winning of the Outstanding Female Musician gong, her first accolade at the National Arts Merits Awards.

She has had a fairy tale on the local front having been booked to perform at several shows across the country including the recent Doek and Slay events.

Her maiden taste of foreign lands came in 2022 when she participated at the JamAfro Family Festival Show in the United Kingdom where she shared the stage with the energetic and well-choreographed South African singer Makhadzi.

Since then, she has never looked back.

On July 20, the music diva performs at the Moto Moto Festival in Germany, a platform that showcases the diverse talents and the culture of Zimbabwe to a global audience.

A week later, Feli Nandi will join other Zimbabwean artistes such as Poptain, Shinsoman, Saintfloew, Sulumani Chimbetu and Jah Signal at the Zimfest at the Hertfordshire Show Grounds in the United Kingdom.

“I am excited to be part of the Zimfest lineup again,” Feli Nandi posted on her Facebook page.

“This year, we bring more fireworks in a special curated set just for you to enjoy some home-grown Zimbabwean music.”

She also expressed her joy over the invitation from organisers of the Moto Moto Festival.
