FBC have dedicated a lot of funds to golf in Zimbabwe and we appreciate them for supporting the beautiful game of sport. I would also like to appreciate our other sponsors with special mention to Ingwebu and Wild Horizons

BBC Elephant Hills Open champion Michael Wallace admitted that he was impressed by the world class state  of the Elephant Hills Golf Course following his triumph in his maiden experience at the venue in Victoria Falls on Sunday.

Wallace recorded a comfortable 21-stroke victory after shooting rounds of 73, 73 and 71 in three rounds to finish the tournament on 1 – over par 217.

Forbes Korekore was a distant second, grossing 238 after shooting 78, 79 and 81 in an event which carried World Amateur Golf Ranking points.

The FBC Elephant Hills Open champion was impressed by the 18-hole Elephant Hill Resort Golf Course which sprawls down to the banks of the Zambezi and was designed by legendary South African golfer Gary Player.

“The experience here has been great. It’s only my second time at Elephant Hills. I had not played this course before and I think it’s really good. I believe it’s actually among the top three in the country at the moment in my own opinion. It’s quite a delight to be able to play here,” Wallace said.

"It feels really great to win this tournament. It was my first time playing on this course and it was a bit challenging trying to figure out where to hit the shots. It's quite a big tournament and I am grateful to the sponsors who made it possible," he said.

Set in a lush, parkland environment teeming with wildlife,  Elephant Hills Golf Course has become one of the choice venues for top international and corporate golf events.
