Scott Vincent wins US$245k at LIV Golf Andalucia

Scott Vincent is one of the two golfers flying the country’s flag on the money-spinning LIV Golf League this year alongside his young brother Kieran Vincent.

Top Zimbabwe golf professional Scott Vincent bagged US$245 000 after finishing in a six-way tie for 17 at the challenging 2024 LIV Golf League Andalucía at Real Club Valderrama in Sotogrande, Spain on Sunday.

Scott Vincent is one of the two golfers flying the country’s flag on the money-spinning LIV Golf League this year alongside his young brother Kieran Vincent.

The 32-year-old golfer shot rounds of 72, 73 and 71 on the par 71 Real Club Valderrama to finish the tournament on 3 – over par 216 and share 17th place with Dustin Johnson, Charl Schwartzel, Matt Wolff, Dean Burmester and Paul Casey.

It was Scott Vincent's best finish of the season in his second consecutive year on LIV Golf beating his previous best of a tie for 21 which was achieved at LIV Golf Hongkong and LIV Golf Miami.

The US$245 000 which the Zimbabwean golfer won in Spain saw his total winnings in LIV Golf in the past two seasons move to US$$7,893,102 and ranks 41st on earnings after 32 competitions since the competition began.

Kieran Vincent has a difficult competition at Andalucía where he tied 51st place out of the 54 golfers who took part after finishing on overall 16 – over par after three rounds.

The 26-year-old carded 77, 78 and 74 at the event and walked away US$ $55,000 to push his total earning for the year to US$ $2,947,783 after 10 tournaments.

LIV Golf League Andalucía was won by Spaniard Sergio García, captain of the Fireballs GC produced a storybook finish to win on home soil.

Garcia rallied from seven strokes down to win his first LIV Golf individual title on the second sudden-death playoff hole against Crushers GC’s Anirban Lahiri.

Meanwhile, teammates Abraham Ancer and David Puig beat the Crushers duo of captain Bryson DeChambeau and Paul Casey in the team aggregate-score playoff as the Fireballs – with three Spaniards on the roster – swept both trophies at Real Club Valderrama.

It was LIV Golf’s first double playoff, and just the second team playoff in league history. The first team playoff came earlier this year at LIV Golf Adelaide, when the home Australian team – Ripper GC – also won.

For García, the script couldn’t have been written any better, as he won for the first time in LIV Golf after three previous playoff losses.

Gacia walked away with the US$4 million winner’s prize while Lahiri got US$2.25 million and Tyrrell Hatton US$1.5 million.
