DELTA Beverages have revealed the prizes for this year’s Carling Black Label National Pool Tournament.

The winner will receive US$2 500 and a pool table.

The first and second runners-up are expected to receive US$1 500 and US$1 000, respectively, while the fourth-place finisher will receive US$500.

Delta Beverages marketing manager lager beer, Kundayi Mawema confirmed that this year’s finals will be held in Harare.

“The much-anticipated CBL National Pool Tournament is back targeting 26 centres around Zimbabwe, with the finals in Harare,” Mawema said in a statement.

“The tournament has been running for over 10 years in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Pool Association (ZPA). This year, the players registered via WhatsApp or USSD before the regional tournaments starting on June 1, 2024.”

She confirmed that the tournaments will be conducted across the country’s 10 provinces to increase the reach of the sponsorship.

“It is pleasing to note that the tournament is gaining traction, popularity and resonance among our loyal Carling Black Label consumers,” Mawema added.

“Preparations for this year’s edition kicked off with a referees training seminar which was held in conjunction with ZPA and saw more than 50 referees across the 10 provinces attending. This basic induction seminar addressed the new and dynamic ways of delivering instructions.

“It also included an appraisal of competencies to equip the referees with knowledge and understanding of the application of rules in line with the world standards of the modern game. The competition will end on July 27, 2024.”
