Diversified investment holding company ZimRe Holdings Limited (ZHL) are delighted to be associate sponsors of the upcoming FBC Zimbabwe Open for the first time having been part of the country's premier golf event as anchor sponsors in previous year.
The FBC Zimbabwe Open is scheduled to take place from May 5 to May 12 at its ceremonial home Royal Harare Golf Club.
ZHL are part of the elite list of local companies and organisations who are partnering in the 12th edition of the Zimbabwe Open since its reintroduction on the local scene in 2010.
The organisation’s chief operations officer Chakanyuka Nziradzemhuka, believes it’s a priviledge to be able to be part of such a big event on the country’s calendar.
“It’s a priviledge to be associate sponsor for the Zimbabwe Open but one where we look at and see a lot of prospect in supporting local sport and beyond, being able to bring in a country’s brand to a different level. I think if you follow even our name and our brand being ZimRe , our name is founded and grounded in Zimbabwe to a great extent so if anything that beckons for bringing more light and shine from the country’s perspective we are very much exciting to partake and participate in,” Nziradzemhuka said.
“Another dimension also for us is that we are very much represented in the region as a company being in five countries such as Mozambique, Malawi, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe. You find that most golfers coming through are represented by that same dimension so in a way it’s our own little gesture of support to our regional counterparts where we reside and operate as a business.
“I see this partnership continuing into the foreseeable future. I think the moment we have a Zim winner I can sense the excitement it will start to bring but I think it’s a journey and we certainly want to be part of it,” he added.
At least 144 golfers from across the globe will take part in the FBC Zimbabwe Open with about 35 of them representing the host country.

ZHL are no stranger to sponsoring sporting events in the country and have been involved in other sport genres in the past.
“It’s not our first time we have done a lot of support to Zim sport through some of our local brands. You find that Fidelity Life Assurance did partner the Premier Soccer League before I think for three to four years. We have also supported other sports such as angling that is a Tiger Fishing Tournament as a group and also with our brands alike so are pretty much in the space.
“We have also taken an interest into Triathlon and Mountain Hiking where we have supported a team of locals to Mt Kilimanjaro including our ceo Stanley Kudenga in 2022 and they conquered the mountain. Sport is what we look out for because part of that also speaks to lifestyle and health,” Nziradzemhuka revealed.
ZHL is a diversified investment holding company with sustainable core competencies in insurance and property with investments and operations located in Zimbabwe and the Southern African region.
