ALL is set for the maiden Champion of Champions tournament featuring the four teams that were promoted into the Premier Soccer League following the end of the 2024 season.
The Champion of Champions, a tournament organised by the four Zifa regions, will be hosted by the Central Region at Bata Stadium in Gweru this coming Saturday and Sunday.
It will be played in a round-robin format, with Central Region champions Kwekwe United taking on Eastern Region winners Triangle in the first semi-final at 12pm on Saturday.
Northern Region’s Scottland will lock horns with Southern Region champions ZPC Hwange in the second semi-final at 3pm on the same day.
The final and third place play-off will be played on Sunday.
“The tournament is being organised by the four Zifa regions (Division 1 leagues). The 2024 champions of each region will participate this weekend in Champion of Champions. These are Kwekwe United (Central Region), Triangle United (Eastern Region), Scotland (Northern Region) and ZPC Hwange (Southern Region),” Central Region vice-chairman Thomas Marambanyika told NewsDay Sport.

“The tournament is about clubs showcasing their talent as part of their preparations for the PSL. Again, the tournament is meant to provide a platform for football fans to appreciate and enjoy the quality and competitiveness of the division 1 leagues, a feeder to the elite PSL.
“We think this is an exciting way of ending the football season in Zimbabwe. Note that this tournament will be held each year, with its hosting rotated between the regions. Central Region is hosting the inaugural four team tournament.”
