CAPS United have set their target of finishing in the top half as the curtain comes down today on the 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
The Green Machine face Ngezi Platinum Stars today at Rufaro Stadium.
CAPS United player and assistant coach Rodwell Chinyengetere said the team was seeking to finish the season on a high note.
“In football what matters are results and it does not matter that it is the last game of the season.
We are geared up for a sweet ending,” said Chinyengetere.
The CAPS United assistant coach revealed that his charges failed to achieve their top-four target and they had now set their sights on finishing the race in the top eight.

“Our target and wish was to finish in the top four and be one of the teams to fight for honours, now we need to finish the season in a respectable position hence points matter today," he said.
“Our target now is to finish in the top eight.”
Chinyengetere added that after failing to achieve a top-four finish, CAPS United will use their last match of the season to assess some of their young players ahead of next season.
“If you have been following the last matches you would see that the coach has been giving game time to young players as part of preparing them for next season,” he said.
With CAPS United eyeing a top-eight finish, their opponents will seek to build onto a winning momentum ahead of their Chibuku Super Cup final clash against Dynamos on Saturday.
Ngezi Platinum Stars failed to defend the league title and are content on finishing third provided that they will win the Chibuku Super Cup.
“It would have been good to win the title two years in a row, but a top-three finish is something that we can equally be proud of.
“Our eyes are now on the Chibuku final and yes, it is some sort of consolation for us. If we can get some silverware this season, yeah, it will be quite some consolation for us,” said Ngezi Platinum Stars president, Takawira Maswiswi.
