Women emancipation organisation, Inspired Women, is organising an all-encompassing end of year goalsetting event for women in enterprise with a view to inspire excellence and entrench productivity among female doers from various sectors and professions.

Running under the theme Inspiring Excellence, Entrenching Productivity, the event, which will be held at Cresta Lodge in Msasa, Harare from 10am until noon on December 19, will feature powerful speakers and people development experts whose experience and expertise will help the women refocus their energy as they prepare for the 2025 business year.

Inspired Women founder Sharon James said there was no better way to plan for the year than to invest in a tailored and exhaustive goalsetting event to help the women unlock value and see endless possibilities.

“A tailored goal-setting event for women fosters a supportive environment, where they can articulate their aspirations and align them with actionable strategies, empowering them to take ownership of their professional growth. This explains why we are charging a modest registration fee of US$40 for members and US$45 for non-members to demonstrate commitment.

“By addressing specific challenges and providing targeted resources, the planned event will enhance confidence and collaboration, ultimately driving excellence and productivity within enterprises.

“We are excited about this event and we are inviting all progressive women, including aspiring entrepreneurs, to join us at this year-end business gathering.”

The multi-award-winning entrepreneur, who is also the founder and managing director of Style Cabin Interiors, said the event will promote structured and informed goal-setting and achievement through tailored, monitored and sustained strategy execution.

“The event is designed to promote structured and informed goal-setting by providing participants with frameworks and tools that facilitate the alignment of personal objectives with actionable plans.

“Through tailored monitoring and sustained strategy execution, attendees can receive ongoing support and accountability, ensuring that their goals are not only set but also actively pursued and achieved over time.”

Some of the guest speakers at the event include the US-based development leadership powerhouse Rutendo Mudzamiri of Women Penya and Sparklead Consulting, business leader and management consultant Lovemore Nyatsine, entrepreneur and business leader Mutsa Mwale plus other surprise guests to be unveiled leading towards the event.

“We have a powerful guest list which boasts unparalleled experience in leadership development, business management as well as people development and we strongly believe they will bring a lot of positives to our network.

"2025 should be a different year for all progressive women entrepreneurs and we believe this event will set the tone for the desired excellence and maximum productivity,” she said.

Inspired Women is a coming together of progressive, grounded and like-minded women with a view to promote self-actualisation and relentless pursuit of purpose. Their primary focus is to educate, empower and inspire.

“We strongly believe women can still achieve our goals without taking a confrontational approach to gender inequality,” James said.

“We want to empower our women to be in charge of their destiny through fostering hard work and excellence regardless of the limitations.

“Even more important is that we educate, empower and inspire women to take charge of their life and future through education, training as well as livelihoods support and nurturing towards excellence.

“We have role models that women can look up to and we want to redefine the narrative though entrenching excellence so that together we can embrace equity.”

James said while lobbying and advocacy for gender justice was important, it goes without saying that an empowered woman is better equipped to stand her ground in the face of abuse and extricate herself from its imprisoning effects.

“While direct advocacy and lobbying for gender justice remains important, we strongly believe that an economically empowered woman is better equipped to fight vices like gender-based violence,” she said.

“The goal-setting event among other tailormade mentorship programmes we are running are all aimed at ensuring that we empower our women to stay in control of their destinies.”

Economic empowerment and mentorship of women are crucial in promoting excellence as they provide women with the resources and confidence needed to pursue leadership roles and contribute positively to their communities.

By increasing women's financial independence, these initiatives help reduce vulnerability to gender-based violence, as empowered women are more likely to advocate for their rights and seek support.

Furthermore, mentorship creates networks of support, enabling women to share experiences and strategies to combat systemic issues, fostering a culture of resilience and empowerment.
