A 24-YEAR-OLD man from Mlonyeni village in Lupane, Matabeleland North province, is on the run after axing his grandmother to death.
Matabeleland North police spokesperson Inspector Glory Banda said police have since launched a manhunt for Logic Nyathi in connection with the murder of Lucy Sibanda
“We are appealing to anyone who might have any information regarding Logic Nyathi to report to the [nearest] police [station],” Banda said.
He said the police received a report on July 13 this year after Sibanda’s body was found in her bedroom with several deep cuts on the head and neck.
According to the police, last week Friday, Sibanda’s daughter, Simangile, made several phone calls to her mother, but there was no response.
This prompted Simangile to ask her neighbours to check on her mother since she was not answering her phone.
