Zimbabwean dancehall icon, Winky D, is set to make a triumphant return to Mbare, which is touted as the birthplace of Zimdancehall, on January 25.
The highly anticipated performance will take place at Rufaro Stadium as part of the launch of Swan, a new venture by the Swan Valley Group
Winky D, known for his energetic stage presence and powerful lyrics, has described the upcoming event as "murder," hinting at an electrifying performance for his fans.
This will mark the artist's first public appearance of the year and is expected to draw a massive crowd.
The Swan Valley Group, a leading player in Zimbabwe's tobacco industry, has invested a significant US$15 million to establish cigarette production and processing lines, aiming to expand its presence in the local market.
This concert will not only be a musical spectacle, but also a significant moment for both Winky D and the Swan Valley Group, solidifying their respective positions in the entertainment and business sectors of Zimbabwe.
The event kicks off with a soccer showdown between Star FM FC and Swan FC, followed by a match between Dynamos legends and Caps United legends.
This leads to the main match, where a Zimbabwean musicians select team will battle a legends select team.
The games begin at 9am and continue until 2pm, leading into a concert showcasing Zimbabwe's finest talent — Winky D, Alick Macheso, Saint Floew, Master H, Kinnah, and the Chillspot Family.
Support will be provided by Nisha T, Darula, Mc Drot, and a fantastic lineup of local artists and DJs.
Entry is granted with the purchase of two packs of Swan, priced at $US1 for a pair.
