A Zvishavane private school, Maharishi Invincibility College has embarked on a journey to offer academics, arts and music skills to students in a bid to promote their personal growth and development.

Students at the college scooped the best performance award at the recently held Midlands marimba arts festival.

Maharishi Invincibility College chief operating officer Khulani Nyoni told Standard Lifestyle that the school’s music curriculum is aligned with the Zimbabwean national curriculum to ensure students are exposed to a well-rounded education system.

“Maharishi Invincibility College is a division of the Maharishi Institute Trust and was established in 2021 with the aim of providing a holistic education programme that combines academic excellence with personal growth and Development,” Nyoni said.

“We offer a vibrant arts and music programme that includes marimba, music theory and performance. Our marimba programme is designed to develop students’ music talent from form one to six and we offer both beginner and advanced classes.”

Added Nyoni: “We plan to continue developing our marimba programme by incorporating new techniques and styles while maintaining the traditional essence of Zimbabwean music.

“We aim to produce talented musicians who will become ambassadors of Zimbabwean culture both locally and internationally.”

A certified transcendental meditation teacher and also national director for the Transcendental Meditation in Zimbabwe, Nyoni said Maharishi college was part of a global network of schools and institutions founded on the principles of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi’s transcendental meditation technique.
