GOSPEL musician Dorcas Moyo has attributed prayer to her success in music with her song Mhanza Haisekwi ruling the roost on local radio stations.
The musician was voted the best female artiste on Radio Zimbabwe and her song was on number six in the annual top 100 charts.
The same song was voted number one in the Star FM Gospel greats hits.
The musician couldn’t hide her excitement as she took to Facebook to share her joy with her followers.
“Topping the Star FM chats was just unbelievable and I have never had such an exhilarating feeling ever. I am still swamped by the joy and excitement and I am highly honoured to be recognised by a station like Star FM,” she posted.
In a follow up interview with Standard Style, Moyo said prayer is one factor that has helped maintain her success.
“Prayer, consistency, humility and ability to take criticism, a loyal followership and good management all contribute to the success of my work. Above all it is the grace of God that enables us,” she said.
Moyo talked about her upcoming album, which is titled Muroyi Ngaafe that is expected to be launched soon.
“We are seized with ensuring that we should push the bar a little higher and try to beat what our current album achieved,” she said.
“It’s not going to be easy, but every effort is being put to ensure the album lives up to expectations.
“What I can assure listeners is that the album is worth waiting for and a cross section of societal and spiritual unrighteousness will be the major ingredients of the album.”
