One of the pioneers of the urban grooves genre Rockford “Roki” Josphat last Wednesday joined forces with dancehall diva Queen Kadijah to release a gospel song titled Ndinouya.

The latest single, which is accompanied by a video, comes on the backdrop of another gospel song titled Mafuta which Roki released in December last year.

Questions have been raised among the Chidzoka hit maker fans whether he is turning into a gospel artist.

Some fans on social media platforms said Roki’s gospel songs were bringing them closer to God.

“Song of the year and the best song so far this year no one is going to beat this,” said Frank Zhou commenting on video-sharing platform YouTube.

“This level is something, well done Roki, Kadja and not forgetting Oskid Productions.”

Sharon Chidavaenzi said she thought Java Records would mainly produce gospel music when they took Roki on board.

“This is awesome l love it,” she said.

The song Ndinouya was produced at Passion Java Records and talks about seeking repentance as heard in the chorus saying ndinouya nehupenyu hwangu meaning I come with my life to God.

As of yesterday afternoon, the song had accumulated 221,255 views
