ZIMBABWEANS and South Africans are engaged in cyber war over the “citizenship” of the reigning Miss Universe Zimbabwe queen Sakhile Dube.
The top model found herself as the coveted possession when Mzansi X users (formerly Twitter) claimed in a series of trolls that Sakhile couldn’t possibly be from Zimbabwe due to her looks.
Said one user by the name Mbuyiseni Mzelemu: “Zimbabweans cancel her! she's South African, No way she’s Zimbabwean with that name and surname…buyela ekhaya, Sakhile!!!!”
Minister Speaker said: “No way she’s Zimbabwean, there is no beautiful hun like that in that country, she’s South African.
@Malunga012 and &therealxolo respectively posted: “Sakhile Dube she’s South African. No DNA. We’re coming for everything”
Some alleged that she is Zulu and that she grew up in Soweto while others claimed that no DNA tests were needed as it was clear and straightforward that the beauty queen was from Mzansi.
The Bulawayo-born model, however, told Standard Style she was from Zimbabwe.
"I believe this debate was intended for fun, so let’s not get too serious about it!” she said.

“Above all, we are Africans!"
The two neighbouring countries have a tendency of dragging each other online over which country outdoes the other in various things.
The latest stunt came on the backdrop of another heated social media debate over the unclear citizenship of ex-Miss SA contestant Chidimma Adetshina, due to her Nigerian heritage.
Adetshina dropped out of the Miss SA contest at the eleventh hour, only two days before the finale.
