Musabvunda celebrates two-year anniversary

Speaking to Standard Style, Pasipanodya said they were buoyed by their achievements during the two years of their existence and are hoping to build on those positives moving into the future.

Leading wellness and healthy living proponent, Musabvunda which also specialises in the sale of gym equipment and sportswear has continued to inspire excellence among fitness enthusiasts and progressive Zimbabweans after it recently marked its two-year anniversary.

The brainchild of corporate executive and fitness advocate Kudzai Pasipanodya widely known as the Bikita Villager or The Greatkhalister, the organisation, which is home to all health and fitness enthusiasts has achieved a lot of traction on the market and resultantly gaining the confidence of industry stakeholders.

Speaking to Standard Style, Pasipanodya said they were buoyed by their achievements during the two years of their existence and are hoping to build on those positives moving into the future.

“We have attained amazing brand equity over the two-year period and we are geared for more gains from here on,” he said.

“The brand has become a market leader and a permanent feature on all fitness calendar events around Zimbabwe.

“Such much confidence is a big plus for us and we can't wait for the next phase of our growth game.”

Pasipanodya said the organisation had become a trusted partner for corporates, government ministries and departments, parastatals, schools as well as religious organisations to name a few.

“We are non-profit, all volunteer organisations whose mission is to provide low cost and no cost athletic opportunities to the people of Zimbabwe to keep them active and improve their well-being,” he said.

"Because of our unique model and attention to detail, we have become a trusted partner for various players and stakeholders among them corporates, government departments and ministries, schools, charities and churches to name a few," he said.

On their two-year anniversary, Pasipanodya said they had a number of events and unique services lined up including running wellness programmes for companies and organisations.

“We recently marked our two-year anniversary and it is our hope that we continue to inspire healthy living amongst our people,” he said.

"We have a number of unique programmes and events lined up. More importantly, we want to start rolling out staff wellness programmes for companies so that we enhance productivity."

Beyond fitness and wellness promotion, Pasipanodya said  his organisation promoted excellency, productivity and maximum capacity utilisation in all spheres of life.

"Musabvunda believes in productivity, excellence and maximum capacity utilisation, and aims to fulfil this through fitness of mind and body," he said.

“We provide opportunities for the people of Zimbabwe to be active, be fit, be healthy and be productive.”

Other key areas of interest for the organisation include fighting drug and substance abuse as well as obesity which is a big issue in most developed countries and lately even in developing countries.

"We also want to reduce sedentary behaviour which is attributed to obesity. We have seen that the advent of certain foods have given rise to obesity and we want fight this through our wellness and healthy living programme," Pasipanodya added.

Equally important is the need to fight drug and substance abuse through awareness programmes attached to our fitness events as well as coaching and mentorship."

Given the general cost associated with sporting and fitness events, Musabvunda intends to ensure access through tailored fitness services that are affordable.

“We intend to remove economic barriers to participation in sport and bring our people closer together through common interest in sportsmanship and competition.”

"We also want to teach sportsmanship, teamwork and accountability; build character and discipline and love of sport at the same time encouraging the athletes to have respected for the game others, and themselves," he said.

As government and other stakeholders battle the drug and substance abuse scourge, Pasipanodya pledged support through his organisation.

"We want to reduce instances of drug and substance abuse by creating platforms for people to keep fit and healthy,

"We also want to create platforms for both novices and experts alike to come together with the aim to achieve the common goal of fitness," he said.

Pasipanodya said all citizens must outlive their fear and go after their dreams.

"The name Musabvunda is drawn from the native shona language and it means, “have no fear” aimed at promoting relentless pursuit of one’s purpose and goals in spite of life challenges and limitations," he said.

"Our main aim is to provide platforms for fitness enthusiasts to come together and have access to the tools and resources that aid in maintaining a fitness lifestyle as we believe a health nation is a productive nation."

Musabvunda has over the years hosted a number of sold-out fitness events and forged strategic partnerships with other like-minded players and organisations.

It's membership is drawn from various groups among them runners, bodybuilders and progressive Zimbabweans that value their health and well-being.

The organisation is headquartered in Harare, but has presence in other parts of the country and the world through representatives and members. The organisation’s mantra hinges on excellence and productivity coupled with maximum capacity utilisation towards growth and self-actualisation.
