DeMbare Chibuku defence on track

Dynamos

Dynamos . . . . . . . . . . . . (2) 3

ZPC Kariba . . . . .  . . . . .(0) 1

DYNAMOS advanced to the quarterfinals of the Chibuku Super Cup after comfortably dismissing ZPC Kariba in a first round tie at Rufaro Stadium yesterday.

DeMbare strolled into the last eight, keeping hopes alive of retaining the trophy they won for the first time last season.

They had to do it in front of a poor crowd though probably because it was a midweek tie.

Goals from Donald Mudadi (13’), Emmanuel Paga (19’) and Nomore Chinyerere (55’) were enough for Dynamos to boot the visitors out.

After opening the scoring, Mudadi turned provider for the second and third goals in a memorable outing for him.

Kariba responded through Nyasha Gurende, who found the back of the net from a free kick two minutes from full time.

The Dynamos-Kariba match was rescheduled as the other first round matches were played the same weekend DeMbare were involved in continental football competition.

The Glamour Boys have an unforgiving fixtures schedule that will see them play another midweek league match against TelOne next week as they play catch-up.

They qualified for the next phase of the Caf Confederation Cup tournament and will experience more of the fixture pile up.
