A 36-year-old man from Plumtree allegedly threatened to kill his father after he refused to give him title deeds  to the family house.

This emerged at the Plumtree magistrates court when Thuma Nkomo (36) of ZB Township appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing attempted murder charges.

Prosecutor Arnold Mudekunye heard that on October  26 , Nkomo demanded that his father  Cleyford Nkomo surrender title deeds to his house.

“The accused arrived home and found the complainant having dinner with other family members, and he demanded the ownership of the complainant’s house,” Mudekunye said.

“A misunderstanding arose between them leading to the accused acting violently by throwing plates of food to the ground and threatening the complainant with death and setting the house aflame." Nkomo was remanded in custody to November 12 for trial.
