A NOTORIOUS armed robber was granted US$200 bail at the Masvingo High Court.

Masvingo High Court judge Justice Garainesu Mawadze ordered Tapiwanashe Bhebhe not  to interfere with witnesses when he appeared in court on February 9.

He also ordered Bhebhe to remain resident at 6185 Dulivhadzimo in Beitbridge and report twice a month on Fridays between 6am and 6pm at Beitbridge Police Station.

Bhebhe is being accused of teaming up with one Brilliant Gibbons during an alleged robbery involving a pirate taxi driver in 2023.

The two are suspected of having robbed their victim of R500.

It is alleged Bhebhe fled the scene but the two were later arrested at different places.

Gibbons, who is in custody, faces four other charges including the heist involving a Glow Petroleum vehicle where its driver was robbed of R167 000 at gunpoint.

They are expected in court on Friday where the State is expected to announce their trial date.
