BY STYLE REPORTER PADENDERE in Borrowdale is a place to bring your partner, your family and your friends to experience one of Harare’s most impressive new eateries.
While it had been daunting to operate in the hospitality industry due to the Covid-19 pandemic and despite the odds stacked against them, new eateries, lately, have been proliferating all over major cities in the country.
One such place that has defied the odds is PaDendere at Number 24 Carrick Creagh Road in the leafy suburb of Borrowdale.
Riding on its motto “All things meaty”, the place has proved to be a one-stop rendezvous for those seeking an authentic leisure experience.
“PaDendere is one of the finest restaurants and butcheries in the history of all things meat,” said the joint’s marketing manager Abel Mavura.
‘Our greatest promise is quality meat from heartily reared livestock and we will never compromise our quality for anything under the sun.”
Mavura said PaDendere was not a mere joint, but an elegant entertainment hub that incorporates butchery, cocktails and top notch wines.
“We are not merely butchery, but a top class rendezvous for amusement offering food and beverages,” he said.
He said the joint was offering music and panorama places for photo shoots.
Recently PaDendere was the most sought after place for Africa Day commemorations as merry-makers thronged the place.
“We celebrated Africa Day with authentic cuisine at PaDendere and on offer was the Dendere, Republican and All things Meat platters,” Mavura said.
“We are continuing with these themed activities and promotions.”
He said the butchery stocks all kinds of meat including fresh meat and biltong as well as sea food, from prawns to fillets.
“We have always wanted to be a community centre, providing locals with a decent place to meet and hang out and the addition of other amenities speaks volume of our vision,” Mavura said.
He said a kids’ play centre allows parents to enjoy a “meaty date”.
