Masvingo Afro-fusion outfit Panhimbe Crew has booked a slot in the Chibuku Road to Fame national finals after winning the provincial competitions held at Huruyadzo Gardens, Chivi growth point recently.
This year’s competition is running under the theme Bvirarira, Tshay’iNgoma.
Street Wise, another Afro-fusion group from the mining town of Mashava were the first runner-up while Mega Power Express, a sungura outfit from Gutu completed the top-three list.
Panhimbe Crew pocketed US$2 500 while Street Wise walked home with US$1 500 and Mega Power Express got US$1 000.
The Masvingo Afro-fusion group will this year represent the province at the national finals on November 14.
The grand prize is US$15 000 plus a recording contract.
Second and third-placed groups take home US$10 000 and US$7 500.
Organisers, Delta Corporation, through their Chibuku brand, have dedicated the platform to recognising and rewarding talent.

“This initiative also offers Chibuku a unique opportunity to connect with and engage consumers nationwide, with thrilling provincial competitions taking place across the country,” said Delta Corporation marketing director, Irimayi Muzorewa.
The talent search is held in collaboration with the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe to empower aspiring musicians and create countless success stories.
