SUNGURA musician Alick Macheso has lined up a series of shows for the festive season including a performance at Padziva Leisure Centre, which has turned out to be his home.
Last week the musician released a packed entertainment menu that will take him across the country.
He kick-started with a performance at Wadzanai Stadium in his home town of Shamva before he joined forces with Jah Prayzah for a show at Vhengere Stadium in Rusape.
From Friday to New Year's eve his performance will take him to Chitungwiza, Mutoko, Harare, Chinhoyi, Glendale, Mashava, Chiredzi, Chipinge and Watsomba, among other places.
The Mundikumbuke hit maker will perform on Christmas Day at Tanza Centre in Chitungwiza followed by a performance at Nyamakwere Lodges in Mutoko.
On December 29, Macheso will perform at Padziva Camp and Caravan located on the western part of Harare along Kirkman Road.
His last performance at the joint was out of this world and the management at Padziva are optimistic that the musician will pull crowds.
“We have put everything in place to host Alick Macheso, come December 29,” said Benjy Nyandoro of Jive Zimbabwe who powers Padziva Camp and Caravan.
“We want to make this Macheso’s home and we believe his followers would want to engage with him here.”
Padziva Camp and Caravan is one of the transformed de facto al fresco entertainment joints trending in the city that have taken over from traditional beer outlets.
Since its inception, the management at Padziva in partnership with local entertainment hub Jive Zimbabwe has facilitated the seeding of an innovative culture within the joint.
Padziva is famed for the #OneBigParty — a family event that is held on the last Saturday of every month, bringing artistes, businesspeople and entrepreneurs together.
Macheso’s publicist Tich Makahamadze said the packed shows were part of the group’s traditional festive season parties.
“We always do this at the end of the year, just to party with our fans across the country,” he said.
Macheso normally takes a month break in January every year.
