By Sukuoluhle Ndlovu The biblical verse Blessed is the hand that giveth than that receiveth speaks true of 24-year-old Masvingo model Angeline Zhou who says her passion for charity and making a difference in society drove her to be a model.
Zhou is one of the contestants in the Miss Grand Zimbabwe and is confident of making it, paving the way for her charity work.
“I love charity work and I believe in the principle of helping others,” Zhou said.
“This has been driving me to be a model.
“If I win, it will be an opportunity for me to showcase my passion for charity.
“I will really thank God for He is the foundation of everything, all the good and great things in my life.
“The love I have for engaging with different people is another force behind me being a model and this will also help as I engage in charity work.”
As Miss Grand Zimbabwe she wants to yield commendable skills and experience in modelling.
She sees herself owning a famous and reputable modeling agency that will groom other upcoming models in the country and beyond.
The first pageant she took part in was Miss Heroes in 2016 before she took a break until this year when she decided to come back and pursue her passion and dreams.
She has only participated in the Miss Heroes Masvingo pageant because she could not afford participating in other competitions while her parents were not in support of her being a model.
Zhou is studying for a BA Honours Degree in Media and Cultural Studies at Great Zimbabwe University.
Her role models are Naomi Campbell, Catriona Grey and her elder sister Blessing Zhou.
