Organiser of the unique golf competition Mutupo Isibongo says they are looking to spread the brand beyond Africa and Europe ahead of the start of the brand new season.

Ranwa Golf released the packed calendar for the 2025 edition of the Mutupo Isibongo series which will tee off on February 7 and conclude on December 13, with a total of 12 events lined up for the season.

The event will return to Europe for the second year running, with the first event set for July 19 at Stratford Park Golf Club in Warwickshire, United Kingdom while the second is scheduled for Earls Golf Club a day later.

Traditional partners Lake Harvest, Proton and Surrey Group will sponsor the event yet again this year.

A unique culture coated golf event, which is hosted in most provinces of Zimbabwe, has become popular for the business, social relationships that are being created by those who have participated in the tournament.

“International tourism is now part of the Mutupo Isibongo Golf’s DNA as the second edition of the United Kingdom edition will be played on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July in Warwickshire. An increased number of locals are already committing to go and participate in this international edition. We are not limiting our vision to Europe only, we will continue to engage other parts of the world as we continue to create global platforms to accord our local golfers a unique, special opportunity for them to promote our culture while playing different golf courses in the world,” Ranwa Golf Management director Ephraim Mashingaidze said.

The season opener is pencilled for Friday 7 February at the magnificent Royal Harare Golf Club, with the finals also set for the same venue on Friday 13 December when the champions will be crowned.

“Mutupo Isibongo has held us together as a people and has strong bonding foundations cutting across generations and tribes. The use of the sport of golf to promote a culture is, indeed, a masterstroke as a means of engagement, networking and establishing lasting relationships.

“The brand also helps to promote sports tourism as golfers travel to play the tournament in other provinces, thereby contributing to domestic local tourism.

“Our gratitude goes to the brand partners Surrey Group, Proton and Lake Harvest. Our partners have been able to interact with most golfers in Zimbabwe and the feedback, brand visibility and product promotion has been very positive through the Mutupo Isibongo Golf Brand,” Mashingaidze  added.

Last year, the Shumba totem bagged its first Mutupo Isibongo golf tournament title at Royal Harare, with  the Dziva totem coming second and the Moyos settling for third place.

It was the fifth edition of the competition.
