Golfer Last Mbwera became the first winner of the Zimind Golf Zone sponsored Hole number 8 Nearest to Pin In Regulation (NPIR) competition in the Minerva monthly stableford golf event at Royal Harare Golf Club last Saturday.
Alpha Media Holdings, through its Zim Ind Golf Zone, has teamed up with Minerva to add to the fun in their monthly golf event.
Mbwera walked away with the inaugural prize of a Capri 94-Litre single door bar fridge after a birdie on hole number 8.
“I am excited to have won this competition and grateful to the Golf Zone and Minerva for putting up this event and competition. I had an excellent round of golf. I overcame a shaky start and finished with a great score. My driver on the 8th hole was perfect, my chip shot was on point, and I had an amazing birdie. Overall, I had a strong game with 7 pars and 1 birdie. That’s a fantastic score to be proud of,” Mbwera said after his triumph.
The terms of the competition were that the competitors were expected to pay a US$50 fee per annum for the weekly Golf Zone and compete on hole number 8 NPIR to win fantastic prizes valued at US$300.
There will be a competition and prizes at every Minerva monthly golf tournament.
