Greetings Saints. Today I am compelled to touch again the issue of turnaround in the life of a Christian. I had to revist this topic after I realised that so much is happening in this world we are living in. There is a lot of compromise taking place in the church of today. Many are backsliding after facing many challenges on the walk of Christianity. When you begin your life as a Christian, it’s a new season for your life. It’s a new way of life.
Navigating unexpected twists and turns in life requires a steadfast trust in God’s plan. Believers can embrace God’s sovereignty, finding comfort and purpose in the midst of uncertainties. Through biblical narratives and personal stories, we showcase the beauty of surrendering to God’s guidance and experiencing divine alignment in the turnaround process. The Apostles were arrested and put to jail for the sake of the gospel. They showed us powerful examples of being totally surrendered to the guidance of God. Acts 12:3-6 (KJV)
- And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
- And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
- Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
- And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
Cultivating a spirit of gratitude
In moments of turnaround, fostering a spirit of gratitude becomes a transformative practice. This section explores the biblical principles of gratitude and the impact it can have on shaping a positive and appreciative perspective amid life’s challenges. By acknowledging God’s goodness and faithfulness, believers can cultivate a heart of gratitude that enhances their spiritual journey.
Wisdom from spiritual mentors
Paul as spiritual mentor of Timothy titus etc
Drawing wisdom from the insights of spiritual mentors and leaders within the Christian community, this section highlights the importance of mentorship in the process of turnaround. Through the guidance of seasoned believers and leaders, individuals can glean valuable lessons, receive encouragement, and navigate the complexities of their faith journey with the support of those who have walked similar paths. This is a very critical aspect for a new born Christian. 1 Corinthians 4:15-17 (KJV)
- For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
- Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
- For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.
Engaging in acts of service
A profound aspect of Christian turnaround is the call to serve others selflessly. This section explores the transformative impact of engaging in acts of service within one’s community and beyond. By embodying the teachings of Jesus, believers discover that serving others not only contributes to the well-being of those in need but also deepens their own sense of purpose and fulfillment. The acts of service are witnessed in the lives of Tabitha and Conilious as outlined in the scriptures below.Acts 10:2-4 (MSG)
- He was a thoroughly good man. He had led everyone in his house to live worshipfully before God, was always helping people in need, and had the habit of prayer.
- One day about three o’clock in the afternoon he had a vision. An angel of God, as real as his next-door neighbor, came in and said, “Cornelius.”
- Cornelius stared hard, wondering if he was seeing things. Then he said, “What do you want, sir?” The angel said, “Your prayers and neighborly acts have brought you to God’s attention.
Acts 9:36-40 (MSG)
- Down the road a way in Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha, “Gazelle” in our language. She was well-known for doing good and helping out.
- During the time Peter was in the area she became sick and died. Her friends prepared her body for burial and put her in a cool room.
- Some of the disciples had heard that Peter was visiting in nearby Lydda and sent two men to ask if he would be so kind as to come over.
- Peter got right up and went with them. They took him into the room where Tabitha’s body was laid out. Her old friends, most of them widows, were in the room mourning. They showed Peter pieces of clothing the Gazelle had made while she was with them.
- Peter put the widows all out of the room. He knelt and prayed. Then he spoke directly to the body: “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes. When she saw Peter, she sat up.
Embracing diversity in faith journeys
Christian turnaround is a deeply personal experience, and this section emphasizes the beauty of diversity within the body of believers. By recognising and respecting the unique paths that individuals take in their faith journeys, Christians can foster a culture of inclusivity and unity. Embracing diversity becomes a testament to the rich tapestry of God’s work in the lives of His people.
Section 20: The Ever-Present Grace of God
Central to the theme of turnaround is the unwavering grace of God. This final section encapsulates the overarching message that, through every twist and turn, believers can rely on God’s grace as a constant and transformative force. By exploring the biblical foundations of God’s grace and sharing real-life stories, we conclude with a resounding affirmation of the unchanging, boundless grace that accompanies every step of the Christian journey.
Conclusion:
It is imperative we understand that when one gives their their life to Christ everything changes. It becomes a life and death issue. This stage demands a total life turnaround. This brings a new lifestyle totally different from before. Today I encourage you, be ye transformed by the renewal of your minds Set your goals for your new life.
