Public health expert and medical doctor Johannes Marisa has been honoured for his excelling mentorship within the public health sector.

The National Medical Excellence Awards recognise outstanding achievements in the field of medicine.
“As a registered awards ceremony celebrating the accomplishments of individuals and organisations, we aim to create a community of excellence that transcends backgrounds and affiliations,” said the organisers of the awards.
“Our dedicated research team has been visiting medical institutions and conducting extensive research on doctors who exemplify selflessness, exceptional patient care, and a true passion for serving others.”
Apart from being a general practitioner, Marisa is a lecturer at the Great Zimbabwe University School of Medical and Health Sciences.
He is also the president of the Medical and Dental Private Practitioners of Zimbabwe Association, an all-inclusive board representing medical practitioners in private practice.

“Your commitment to sharing knowledge has significantly advanced public health practices.”
Marisa referred to his work in the field of medicine as a calling.
“It’s all about dedication and commitment which I believe came about more as a calling than a profession,” he said.
“I thank the organisers of this awards ceremony and I believe this will motivate more of our colleagues in the field.
“I hope to keep on inculcating medical knowledge and skills to the next generation.”
