A 35-year-old Mazowe man allegedly threatened to kill his wife after she indicated that she wanted a divorce citing emotional and physical abuse.

Lucky Fero allegedly stabbed his wife Faith Manyasha (26) three times on the head before assaulting her with a burning log.

The matter came to light at the concession magistrates courts last Friday.

Fero was not asked to plead to the attempted murder charges before being remanded in custody to December 3.

Prosecutor Munyaradzi Nengomasha alleged that on November 1, the suspect had a misunderstanding with his wife after she expressed her frustration in the marriage.

She threatened to take some of their property to her parents' home.

Fero took a kitchen knife and stabbed his wife three times on the head before assaulting her with a burning log.

She managed to escape and filed a police report.
