A Harare magistrate on Friday dismissed an application by Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) members Godfrey Sithole and Job Sikhala to have the charges of inciting public violence against them quashed.
Sithole and Sikhala filed the application at the close of the State case saying the state failed to prove a case against them.
Sikhala had denied that he posted videos inciting the public to commit public violence. Sithole dismissed claims that he hired vehicles to ferry people to commit public violence.
However, magistrate Tafadzwa Mhiti dismissed their application saying the state had proved its case by linking the two to the case.
She ruled that Sikhala and Sithole should be put to their defence. The matter was remanded to November 20 for trial continuation.
Sikhala and Sithole face charges of incitement to violence during the funeral of slain CCC activist, Moreblessing Ali.
Sikhala has been in detention since his arrest in June last year while Sithole is out on bail.
