A teenager dragged her father to the Harare magistrates court demanding maintenance money for her education needs.
Heather Mabvira told magistrate Ayanda Dlamini that her father, Justin Mabvira, was refusing to pay her tuition fees.
She was demanding US$120 a month to cover for her extra lessons, stationery and bus fare.
“He is a panel beater and I am applying that he provides for my extra educational needs because I am still going to school,” she said.
His father told the court that he could only afford US$30.
“I have other children whom I am taking care of and her US$120 claim is outrageous,” he said.
“I almost lost a job recently for being absent at work attending to several cases from her, her mother and siblings.”
Dlamini ordered him to pay US$30.
