BY NIZBERT MOYO PREPARATIONS for Zimbabwe’s largest mining stakeholders gathering, Mine Entra are advanced with 115 exhibitors having booked for the exhibition later this month.
The exhibitors include four from China, South Africa and United Kingdom.
The exhibition will run from July 20 to 22 under the theme Explore. Extract. Expand: Towards Sustainable Mining Value Chains, highlighting the role of the exhibition as a conduit for creating platforms for dialogue and engagement for mining industry stakeholders.
Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) chief executive Nicholas Ndebele told Southern Eye that over 66% of exhibition space has been taken up so far.
“The executive team has been engaged in a series of high-level stakeholder engagements in preparation for the Silver Jubilee edition of Mine Entra. We met Mines and Mining Development minister, Winston Chitando,” Ndebele said.
He said the mining sector’s focus was currently centered on the beneficiation and value-addition of minerals before export as one of the four key pillars of Zimbabwe’s goal to create value.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to officiate at the Mine Entra conference as well as the official opening ceremony to be held on July 21.
The exhibition will be characterised by a number of knowledge-sharing platforms and focused dialogues catering for different segments within the mining value-chain, including small-to-medium scale mining operators, women and youth in mining.
Participants will also have the opportunity to attend numerous social functions throughout the event.
