Recently launched fashion house Zorah West is recording a business boom as locals are placing orders for custom made designer apparel in response to the festive season hype.
According to the fledgling fashion house’s founder and MD Sharon James, Zorah West is recording brisk business after parading some of their best designs during a recent launch-cum business shower in Avondale, Harare.
“We are quite intentional about our plans as a fast rising fashion house and we are happy that our decision to launch the fashion house is paying dividends,” James said.
“Clients are ordering designer dresses and apparel in droves and we are happy with this show of confidence in our brand.
“We are excited about the future and we hope to continue capitalising on the goodwill and public interest.”
The fashion house has utilised the digital media to promote their work and designs and they have instantly struck a chord with the masses.
“We are employing the best strategies to become the most sought after fashion house in Zimbabwe and the formula is working,” she said.
“We are having orders from Zimbabweans in the region and beyond especially given the festive season mood and we are geared and ready for the client demands.”
The young fashionista, who is also the founder and MD of furniture company Style Cabin, was recently described as an astute entrepreneur by respected businessman Tinashe Mutarisi of Nash Paints Group who was guest of honour at the launch.
“I believe in the potential of women to lead and I am happy that Sharon is demonstrating great business acumen,” Mutarisi said.
“She is doing amazing work with Style Cabin and I am happy that she is launching another business venture in Zorah West.
“Such hunger for success must be commended and we encourage the majority of Zimbabweans to follow this path.”
Zorah West specialises in stock and designer clothes with a bias towards women clothes.
“We supply both stock and designer clothes, but our focus for now is on women because we want to celebrate the beautiful women in Zimbabwe and beyond,” James said.
“Our designs infuse both African and Western styles to produce a winner look and we are excited by the market’s response to our work.”
The businesswoman said her dream was to dress some of the biggest names in showbiz both locally and internationally.
“We want to be the go to fashion house for special events dresses and apparel and we are doing all it takes to achieve that dream,” she said.
“Our desire is to dress some of Zimbabwe and Africa’s bigesst names in showbiz. We also want to go global with our brand.”
Zorah West also intents to focus on corporate wear for brands and they are planning to effectively roll out that drive.
The fashion house boasts of its own internal designers and James said she hopes to create more employment and opportunities as the brand grows and spread across the globe.
