My Dear People

It has been over a week since the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc) X page was taken over by a ghost, who claims to be an insider that is frustrated by the anti-graft’s body’s ineffectiveness.

The ghost using the handle @mhepoyenyika has been posting about what all Zimbabweans know — that Zacc will not do anything to stop the looting by vene.

This is happening at a time when the anti-graft body is doing all it can to keep the son out of jail by ignoring the raging Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) scandal.

Instead they have gone after Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu whom the son accuses of airing their dirty secrets in public after audios of him telling them how the Zec loot was going to be shared.

It does not surprise me that Zacc has done nothing to bring the son too book despite its chairperson announcing two weeks ago that they had enough evidence to take those involved to trial.

The son even ignored a Zacc ‘invitation’ for an interview concerning the scandal. What is going to happen is that Chimombe and Mpofu’s trial will drag forever until everyone loses interest and the charges will be dropped.

We have seen it happening to people that were linked to scandals at the National Social Security Authority (NSSA), including  a top member of the ruining party.

They call it the catch and release strategy, which they have perfected from the days of Gushungo. Zacc’s ineffectiveness has been brutally exposed by the ghost that is now running their X account.

Can they be trusted to catch criminals if they cannot deal with a simple matter of a hacked social media account?

As Chimombe and Mpofu spent a bitterly cold weekend behind bars for allegedly defrauding the government of millions of dollars meant for goats that were supposed to be passed on to poor households, Agriculture minister Anxious Masuka was insisting that the scheme will continue.

Masuka told senators that the scheme was derailed by contractors that failed to deliver the goats with only 6000 animals having been distributed since 2021.

In a normal country the scheme was going to be suspended with immediate effect to allow for a thorough audit in order to protect public funds, but not in Zimbabwe.

As I write this missive someone is busy scheming how to outdo Chimombe and Mpofu in looting the scheme.

The difference between Gushungo’s administration and that of the scarfed one is that Baba never tolerated corruption.

As I always say, you will regret, if you are not already doing so, the day you marched with the soldiers in order to install the Lacoste cabal in power.

One of the people I find very amusing on social media is Nicky, the purported government spokesperson.

He doesn’t seem to know what he is supposed to be doing really. At one point he wants to be a journalist who reports some of the most mundane things you can think of.

Some days he wants to be the spokesperson for the first family.

On Friday his followers had a field day when he posted about alleged scammers that were allegedly using “Major Sean Mnangagwa's” name to cheat people out of their money.

Someone needs to school the former nurse about communication and what he is supposed to be doing as part of his duties as a civil servant. Kikikikiki

Scenes outside the Harare magistrates court last week after CCC interim leader Jameson Timba and the Avondale 78 were denied bail showed how much the Lacoste cabal fears its own people.

There was a heavy police presence and people were not allowed to protest peacefully following the shock judgment.

To show that the Lacoste cabal fears the power of the people, Information minister Janfran Muswere issued a very angry statement threatening people that were allegedly planning to distabilise the country.

They must be watching the developments in Kenya with trepidation. The issues that pushed the young people in Kenya to the streets are also very alive in this country.

We know that the scarfed one does not hesitate to send soldiers to crush protests and he believes that he will rule until donkeys grow horns, but we all know what happened to Gushungo after I told people that he will rule them from the grave.

The people are watching the corruption that is going on unchecked and the continued economic mismanagement. One day they will rise.

A US commander last week was forced to respond to claims by Zimbabwean government officials that Washington is setting a military base in Zambia.

“That's absolutely false,” said General Michael Langley from an African Chiefs of Defence Conference in Botswana. “We have no bases in Zambia. We have no plans to put one there.”

I hope that will put an end to the nauseating propaganda that is being ad  nauseam to the detriment of this country’s relations with Zambia.
