The 2024 edition of the annual African Sun Troutbeck Resort Classic golf tournament was a resounding success after a total of 82 golfers took part in the competition at the resort's nine hole golf course in Nyanga on Saturday last week.

Gideon Toronga, playing off a 17 handicap, won the men's competition after finishing the tournament with 38 points and was a point ahead of nearest rivals Timothy Nyamutowa and Naison Kokota who managed 37 points.

But it was Nyamutowa, 8 handicap, who took second place after Kokota , 12 handicap, was counted out.

In the women Priscilla Makurumure, playing off an 8 handicap, was the victor finishing the tournament with 35 points and taking home the title.

The Troutbeck Resort Classic golf tournament is one of the major golf highlights on the African Sun calendar along with the FBC Elephant Hills Open.

Held at their championship Gary Player designed golf course in Victoria Falls the FBC Elephant Hills Open is one of the top amateur events on the Zimbabwe Golf Association (ZGA) calendar.
