Rising Zimbabwe professional golfer Kieran Vincent is set to begin life in the lucrative LIV Golf League when the season opening LIV Golf Mayakoba tees off at El Camaleon Golf Course in Playa del Carmen, Mexico today.
Vincent who joins his brother Scott Vincent in the LIV Golf League is part of the newly formed Legion XIII which is captained by two-time major winner and reigning Masters champion, Jon Rahm from Spain. The team also includes Englishman Tyrrell Hatton and American teenager Caleb Surratt.
Vincent excelled at LIV Golf Promotions, the league’s inaugural three-day showdown in December 2023, to secure one of the three qualifying spots up for grabs through the tournament.
The 26-year-old golfer believes his team is strong enough to cause problems in the competition and has potential to win in Mexico.
“I am grateful to be a part of LIV but it has expanded this year and I think we have a pretty good team here I think it's going to be hard to beat we just have to go out there and do our thing and Hopefully come Sunday champagne showers I don’t know,” Kieran said in the team’s media address in Mexico this week.
After qualifying for the LIV Golf in December, speculation was high that he would join his brother’s team Iron Heads GC before he was announced as part of Rahm’s new team last week.

“It was an interesting month or two of not knowing who I was going to join. But I knew it was going to be sweet no matter what situation you find yourself in .The four guys we have in this team are super cool and as we gel and get to know each other better it’s going to grow from strength to strength,” he said.
Vincent turned pro in 2022 after playing collegiate golf at Liberty University for six year and is already an Asian Tour winner. LIV Golf announced Legion XIII as the first new team to join the league since its inception in 2022.
Rahm has high hopes for his team.
“We’ve come a long way in a short period of time and are extremely proud of the team and brand we are building,” he said.
“As we were developing the team’s brand it became clear that I wanted to fight alongside a group of guys who aligned perfectly with what the team stands for. Tyrrell is a fierce competitor, proven champion, and of course my Ryder Cup teammate.
“Caleb is one of the brightest next gen stars of the game. And Kieran is a steady, talented ball striker who earned his promotion to LIV and is elevating his game every day,” Rahm added.
Rahm boasts of 20 wins in his professional career, including the 2023 Masters, 2021 U.S. Open, and the DP World Tour Championship three times (2017, 2019, 2022).
He has also played in three consecutive Ryder Cups, helping Team Europe to victory in 2018 and 2023 and last year.
“The introduction of Legion XIII is a testament to LIV Golf’s continued growth as our league builds for the long-term,” said LIV Golf Commissioner and CEO Greg Norman.
“Jon Rahm is one of the top competitors in the world and his team will make an immediate impact on the league both on and off the golf course. I’m thrilled to welcome his new teammates, Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton and young gun Caleb Surratt, along with LIV Golf Promotions standout Kieran Vincent, who will undoubtedly be great additions to the league. This is another exciting moment in the natural evolution of LIV Golf and the future for the sport.”
The competition has 13 teams now namely Torque , 4Aces, Smash, Stinger, Crushers , Ripper, Fireballs, HyFlyers , Cleeks, Range Goats, Majestics , Iron Heads and Legion XIII. LIV Golf Mayakoba is set to conclude on Sunday.
