Businessman Paul Tungwarara has gone on a trajectory to revolutionise the Zimbabwe innovation landscape by introducing the Talk and Pay platform, which has already started transforming the country’s e-commerce.
In recent months, Tungwarara who is also the force behind Prevail International and the country’s only Cybercity in Mt Hampden has emerged as a transformative force in Zimbabwe's e-commerce landscape. Its innovative platform, Talk and Pay, is proving to be a game changer for both consumers and businesses.
Talk and Pay, which has already secured an operating licence in Zimbabwe, is a chat, online payment, and money transfer application that allows people to connect seamlessly from any part of the world.
This is part of Tungwarara’s vision to ensure inclusivity in the country’s financial system, where rural areas are also expected to benefit from the platform.
“Going forward, no one needs to get in town to get banking and financial services. Through this application, we are also into agency banking, where we offer financial services. This platform is a game changer, and we are driving President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision on innovation, which is in line with Vision 2030. People must not travel long distances to get financial solutions,” Tungwarara said in an interview.
“This platform is reliable, fast, and the best for all terrains. We recently partnered with CBZ on agency banking. This is a product done by a Zimbabwean that is going to bring world-class financial solutions to the country. The idea is to intergrate this platform with all countries.”

At Talk and Pay you can also buy airtime for your mobile number in any part of the world and electricity purchase platform is also available. We are busy integrating all countries on the platform . Now you can also book flights tickets on the platform to travel to any part of the world . You can also do pay out from the tap wallet to an United Arab Emirates (UAE) Bank.
“The wallet is topped up by Visa Master Card and those transacted funds from all parts of the world comes to our Zimbabwe trust accounts . Imagine the foreign currency that the system is going to generate. Tap is going to play a big role in introducing plastic money,” Tungwarara said.
“We are going to provide Tap point of sales were people will just tap and scan on the shops from their wallet and this will go a long way in promoting the use of plastic money. This also means the people in the diaspora are able to purchase things like airtime and electricity for their loved ones in Zimbabwe,” he added.
Tungwarara further said this platform will entail increased adoption, where the platform will encourage more people to engage in online shopping as well as boost the local economy by facilitating transactions for local businesses.
As Tungwarara continues to innovate, it is setting a precedent for the future of e-commerce in Zimbabwe, demonstrating the potential of technology to bridge gaps in accessibility and usability.
