A Gweru-based man was sentenced to three years behind bars last week for having sex with a minor.
Talent Mpofu (27) was sentenced by Gweru magistrate Nixon Mangoti on Thursday.
Mpofu was accused of violating Section 70 of the Criminal Law and Codification Act.
He will, however, serve two years behind bars after Mangoti suspended one year of his sentence.
The court heard that sometime in March, Mpofu proposed love to a 15-year-old girl.
Mpofu allegedly later lured her to his house where he had sexual intercourse with her several times.

Mpofu later persuaded the girl to elope to his younger brother to cover up for his criminal act.
The girl told her mother about the whole incident and a police report was filed leading to the arrest of Mpofu.
