THE Zanu PF youth leader for zone 6 in Waterfalls, Harare, was on Monday dragged to court for allegedly unleashing party supporters on a 42-year-old man following a row over ownership of a residential stand.
The victim, Clayton Gudhu, told magistrate Sharon Mashavira that he was attacked by more than five Zanu PF youths allegedly sent by Nicholas Hamadzirii early this month.
Gudhu was seeking a peace order against Hamadzirii, whom he accused of instigating the attacks over a piece of land he acquired through a co-operative.
“I was hit by a brick on my back and chased by machete-wielding young men who came to my house claiming ownership of the land,” he said.
“I could not get their residential addresses when I reported the assault to the police and I was told that Nicholas was the one sending them.”
Gudhu said efforts to discuss the issue with Hamadzirii were in vain.

Hamadzirii, however, denied the allegations saying he did not know Gudhu, except talking to him over the phone.
“I do not know why he is seeking a peace order against me because I have never been to his house or met him,” he said.
“I suspect that he is dragging me in his fights with some youths who are claiming ownership of the State land which falls under my zone in Waterfalls Retreat Farm.”
Mashavira dismissed Gudhu’s application for lack of evidence.
