Bulawayo-based multifaceted artist Kyla Blac is making waves once again with the release of her latest single DND (Do Not Disturb), now available for streaming across all digital platforms.

She explained the sentiment behind DND in a recent statement: “Imagine someone constantly hurting you … and when you express that pain to them, all they do is gaslight you and pretend it never happened? This song is basically me saying I have no fight left. I am cutting you out of my life for my peace, and you will no longer have access to me like you did before.”

The single reflects her continued evolution as an artist. In DND she explores the intricate facets of contemporary relationships, touching on themes of boundaries and self-preservation. Its infectious melodies, irresistible rhythms and thought-provoking lyrics resonate deeply with both longstanding fans and those just discovering her music.

Her previous track, Problem, received international interest, including recognition from Nigerian artist Alex Peter Idoko. Closer to home, the song led to an invitation to perform at Sofar Sounds Harare, the global community bringing artists and audiences together to create intimate, live performances in unique spaces.

Kyla’s journey began with a strong foundation in music and piano studies at the prestigious Zimbabwe Academy of Music. Since then, she has consistently enchanted listeners with her storytelling abilities, while crafting her unique blend of Afro soul and RnB. Her fluency in piano playing adds a rich and melodic dimension to her music, allowing her to create harmonies that resonate with listeners on a profound level.

The musician has made a significant impact in the music industry as a singer, songwriter, producer and dancer. As a multi-angled artist, she is not limited to a single role. DND is a testament to her involvement in the entire creative process of her own music.
