Two points separate the two sides with table-toppers Bulawayo Chiefs on 63 points as the curtain comes down on the league today.

Bantu Rovers, coached by Johannes Ngodzo, kept themselves in contention last week when they edged ZPC Hwange 1-0 at Luveve Stadium while Bulawayo Chiefs hung on to their title hopes with a 2-1 win over Bosso 90 at Harstfield.

Tshintsha Guluva, as Bantu Rovers are affectionately known, head to Victoria Falls for a match against Amagagasi, whom they beat 2-0 in the reverse fixture leg in Bulawayo. Ngodzo yesterday rallied his charges and travels to the resort town knowing that defeat means Division One football again next year.

“I told my boys to keep their cool and play our normal game. But obviously everybody knows what is at stake. It’s a must-win for us and hopefully Bulawayo Chiefs drop points, but we must just focus on our own tie against Amagagasi,” Ngodzo said.

The former Highlanders player welcomes back left-back Chrispen Ncube from suspension in his squad that also has Dylan Nsingo, Bukhosi Sibanda, Fortune Nkomazana and veteran Zephania Ngodzo.

If Bulawayo Chiefs beat Ntabazinduna, they will be crowned 2016 champions.

Bulawayo Chiefs, Bantu Rovers, Amagagasi, ZPC Hwange, ZRP Bulawayo and Talen Vision are guaranteed participation in the $10 000 Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Trukumb Mining Enterprises Top Eight tournament, which was launched at a local hotel on Wednesday.

Black Boots and Indlovu Iyanyathela, tied on 37 points, Technosphere (36 points) and Victoria Falls Tigers (35 points) play their last games at the weekend hoping to land the remaining two slots for the tournament which will be played at White City and Luveve from December 3-10.
