HIGHLANDERS chief executive officer Brian Moyo has resigned amid allegations of impropriety in the purchase of players from Bulawayo Chiefs.
Moyo is under investigation at the Bulawayo giants camp on allegations of inflating the price of two players that Highlanders acquired from The Ninjas, who were relegated from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) last year.
Bosso has since accepted his resignation.
Moyo stands accused of pocketing US$5 000 from the sale of the players after presenting an invoice of US$23 000 when the actual price for the duo was US$18 000.
Club chairman Kenneth Mhlophe said the investigations into the matter continue despite Moyo's stepping down.
"Highlanders FC has recieved and accepted a letter of resignation from it's chief executive officer Brian Moyo. His resignation comes at a time when the club had initiated investigations and a disciplinary process against him as a result of allegations of corruption and misappropriation of club funds. The club assures it's stakeholders that due process will be followed to deal with the issue," Mhlophe said.
Moyo replaced Sihlangu Dlodlo who died under mysterious circumstances last year.
Dlodlo was Ronald Moyo's successor and the latter has assumed the same position at flamboyant PSL newbies Scottland FC.
