The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions played out two goalless draws in their first two matches, but came right against Herentals on Saturday with a 1-0 win.

Simba Bhora coach Joel Luphahla is relieved after his club won their first league match of the season.

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions played out two goalless draws in their first two matches, but came right against Herentals on Saturday with a 1-0 win.

Namibian forward Isaskar Gurirab delivered the team's first goal of the season.

Luphahla was a relieved man after the match as his side kept themselves in touch with the log leaders.

"Thanks to the boys we had played two matches without getting a goal. To get the first goal of the season and to get three points is quite a relief especially to our fans you have seen how they come and support the team," Luphahla said

This is Luphahla's first season with the club having joined after leaving Dynamos.

Simba Bhora lost a host of players and Luphahla said he is still rebuilding after bringing in 13 new players.

"What I like about our boys is that even when things were not going well they kept that belief that we will turn it around. We were facing a team that does not give away points easily. I am happy for the club because this season is going to be difficult to get three points , it's not easy. We have got a good team on paper it's a good team, but we have to merge and become a team. It's not easy bringing 13 new players, you need time. You are bringing different qualities that you have to merge and form a team. But we are happy that we are winning while we are building. I think from here the boys can get more confident, we have another difficult game against Dynamos coming up."

With tye win Simba Bhora moved to sixth on the league table with five points and two behind table toppers Mwos.

Herentals are tenth on the log
