ZIFA Northern Region Division One side MWOS FC are leaving no stone unturned in a bid to win promotion to the premier league after sending its head coach Lloyd Mutasa on attachment at Turkish Super Lig side Basaksehir FK.
The Punters were narrowly beaten to the title by Scottland last season, losing out by two points.
It appears the Norton-based side are pulling all the stops this time around to win the championship, a feat that comes with it a promotion ticket to the Premier Soccer League.
The club yesterday announced through its social media platforms that Mutasa will go on attachment at the European club to enhance his coaching skills.
During his time in Turkey, Mutasa will engage in comprehensive learning experiences, focusing on match preparations, pre-match and post-match strategies and other pivotal areas that are essential to modern football.
MWOS said the initiative underscores the club's commitment to developing a competitive edge ahead of the upcoming season.
“MWOS FC is proud to announce that head coach Lloyd Mutasa will today [yesterday] embark on an exciting attachment with Istanbul Basaksehir FK in the Turkish Super Lig,” the club said.
“This unique opportunity aims to immerse Mutasa in the operational intricacies of one of Europe’s premier football leagues, enhancing his expertise in various critical aspects of the game.”

“The wealth of knowledge and experience that Mutasa is set to gain from this attachment is invaluable. By observing and participating in the high-calibre environment of the Turkish league, he will bring back innovative ideas and methodologies that could significantly elevate MWOS FC’s performance on the pitch.
“As we look ahead, the insights gained from this international exposure will not only enhance Mutasa’s coaching acumen, but also strengthen MWOS FC’s position as a formidable force in the league. We are excited about the positive impact this experience will have on our team and the strides we will make in our pursuit of excellence.”
Mutasa becomes the second local coach to embark on a capacity-building exercise in Turkey in recent times after Scottland's Tonderai Ndiraya spent some weeks at Turkish Division One side Kocaelispor last month.
MWOS, who are on a rebuilding exercise after axing over a dozen players, including Mutasa’s son Wisdom, will begin the upcoming season as favourites to win the title.
Other players who have been shown the exit door in a major clear out are veterans Chris Samakweri and Kelvin Shangiwa, Peace Makaha, Gamu Chikengezha, Marcos Tafara, Evidence Tendayi and Ashford Nyamanjiva.
