WARRIORS captain Marvelous Nakamba is finally back to his best after completing a full match for the first time since his long term injury last November.
Nakamba played the entire match in the Zimbabwe national football team’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya last Friday.
This was the first time he completed 90 minutes in 14 months.
After one error in the opening minutes of a match against the Harambee Stars as the Warriors sought to avoid defeat to qualify for the finals in Morocco next year, he was solid the rest of the tie to help Zimbabwe get the result they needed.
Nakamba and Andy Rinomhota protected Zimbabwe’s defence so well and bossed the midfield so as to allow Marshall Munetsi to make forays into enemy zone.
The Luton midfielder was also outstanding in the 2-1 defeat in the last Group J qualifier against Cameroon two days ago.
Zimbabwe suffered in the early stages of the match, where they let in two goals, but grew into the match, where Nakamba bossed the midfield, particularly in the second half.
The Afcon tournament will be played between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026.
