ZIMBABWE Cricket has made significant changes to its limited overs cricket squads for the forthcoming white ball series against Pakistan scheduled for Bulawayo starting on Sunday.
The Chevrons take on Pakistan in three One Day Internationals and three T-20 matches from November 24 to December 5.
The selectors have made at least eight changes into the ODI squad from the last time on as the Justin Sammons reign continues to grow from strength to strength.
All-rounders Ryan Burl, Luke Jongwe and Milton Shumba are some of the casualties from the squad that travelled to Sri Lanka in January. They are joined by batsmen Takudzwanashe Kaitano, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Tony Munyonga as well as spinners Wellington Masakadza and Tapiwa Mufudza who all played in the series against Sri Lanka at the beginning of the year.
Replacing them for the Bulawayo series are Sean Williams who makes a return into the squad at home, all-rounders Brian Bennett, Tashinga Musekiwa and Dion Myers.
Wicketkeeper batsman Tadiwanashe Marumani makes a return together with spinner Brandon Mavuta. Speed merchants Trevor Gwandu and Tinotenda Maposa have also been included into the side. Maposa has never looked back since his stint in the Zim Afro T10 and continues to bowl with both precision and accuracy.
The remnants from the Sri Lanka tour include ODI skipper Craig Ervine who has been on a scintillating form scoring hundreds for fun in domestic cricket. T20I captain Sikandar Raza is also in the squad together with wicketkeeper batsmen Joylord Gumbie and Clive Madande, towering twin seamers Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava and Faraz Akram.
However, Burl and Masakadza have made it into the T20I side against Pakistan while Carl Mumba and Ainsley Ndlovu join the list of players who were not retained from the squad that toured Sri Lanka.
