The home of bumper harvest Seed Co Zimbabwe successfully held their annual charity golf day at Borrowdale Brooke Golf Estate, Harare last week.
The initiative`s aim was to raise funds for the two homes which are supported by the Seed Co Company, Ida Wokwako Old Peoples Home in Marondera and Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic and Care Centre in Mutoko .
Over 33 golfers took part in the event and every player was given a reward for playing including the ladies who took part in the event.
“The Seed Co annual golf day is a key calendar event where we play with a purpose to raise funds for the two homes and the company matches, so that the amount that we do donate is bigger,” Seed Co Public Relations Officer Patience Phiri said.
“Last year Mutemwa Leprosy Catholic and Care Centre managed to set up a solar system to assist them in their day to day duties and Ida Wokwako Old People`s Home were able to put up a home to add more rooms for the people that are living there.”
She added: “ It is also a wonderful networking opportunity for shareholders because we bring them together we all come together to play and catch up but with a purpose in mind ,the event was attended by our group board, local board and also members of management from other SBUs across the country.
“Seed Co has got a footprint in 19 countries in Africa, we believe that doing good is always a good business and which is why we will continue to serve in the communities that we are in and we are currently running a promotion were people can buy at least a 10 kg bag of seed and something else from Seed Co with a great prize and the prices will be given at harvest,”she said.
