HARARE-BASED tenderpreneur Wicknell Chivayo has joined forces with Division One club owner Pedzisai “Scott” Sakupwanya to drive Scottland towards promotion into the Premier Soccer League after tabling mind-blowing incentives to the players.
Scottland are locked in an exciting tussle for the sole ticket to the topflight league from the Northern Region Division One with MWOS FC, who currently sit on top of the tree.
Sakupwanya has been tabling huge bonuses to his players in the gripping run-in.
On Sunday, the players were each paid US$2 000 for their win over Harare City.
Chivayo watched the match with Sakupwanya and afterwards, addressed the players in the dressing room, where he promised five Toyota Aqua vehicles to the players that were outstanding in that match.
He then dangled cars for everyone if they win their next game against Herentals Under-19.
Chivayo said he wasn’t too pleased with the way the team played on Sunday as they missed chances, but was happy that they took three points.
“If you beat Herentals (next match), everyone will get an Aqua,” he said.

Sakupwanya had demanded six goals against Harare City, saying he would dole out US$2 000 to each player, a figure he still paid them despite winning 3-1 through goals from Cleopas Dube, an own goal and Ronald Pfumbidzai.
“It was an impressive performance and you will get the US$2 000 bonus despite failing to secure the six-goal margin that I had set ahead of the match,” he said.
Midweek, he paid each player US$1 500 after their 5-1 win over DZ Royals. He has since dangled a US$10 000 carrot for each player if they win promotion.
“There is a US$10 000 bonus for every player if Scottland win the title. After that, there are bigger plans, including Europe.”
MWOS have amassed 79 points from 36 matches, while Scottland have 78 from 35 matches.
The fate of Scottland's abandoned match against Karoi United is yet to be announced after the referee failed to finish off the last two minutes claiming an injury.
