TITLE-CHASING Northern Region Division One side Scottland FC, owned by Mabvuku-Tafara MP Pedzisayi “Scott” Sakupwanya, yesterday unveiled a new kit at Belgravia Sports Club as they seek to boost their final push for promotion into the topflight league.
Scottland were sitting in fourth place on 42 points from 21 matches, two behind log leaders MWOS FC going into this weekend’s games.
Scottland, who are now under the tutelage of former Dynamos coach Genesis Mangombe, travel to Norton to face MWOS at Ngoni Stadium today.
The kit, which includes different training, playing and travelling gear, was supplied by China-based football administrator and enthusiast Walter Musanhu, through his Jadel Football Academy brand.
“This idea of dressing well is a reflection of our preparation for the Premier League. As you all know, we are in the race for promotion and the Premier League is more professional, so when we go there, we don’t want to be new kids on the block. We want to look professional like people who came prepared,” club secretary-general Fortune Bgoni said.
Mangombe was happy with the gesture, which gives the team a new classy look as the season enters the home stretch.
“It’s always nice to be associated with well-organised teams like Scottland. I think this gesture by the club means a lot to me and also to the players,” he said.
“As you know, one of the most important things in football is to be equipped with all the kits. What it means for us is that the task ahead of us is very crucial and we need to make sure that we produce good results to make sure that we gain promotion into the PSL.”

Musanhu revealed that he had a passion in designing kits and was just following his passion.
“I just do this out of passion. I enjoy designing kits. As you can see, the kits here are beautiful and unique. I have supplied Caps United, Bikita Minerals and Prince Edward (High) as well as many other clubs [with kits], but it’s just a passion that I have,” he said.
“We have something going on the side (with Scottland) and Jadel Footbal Aacademy is going to come in into the setup on the junior development side.”
Scottland have brought in a number of marquee signings during the midseason transfer window, including former Warriors fullback Ronald Pfumbidzayi, Leeroy Mavunga, King Nadolo and Allan Gahadzikwa, just to mention but a few.
