STRUGGLERS TelOne FC and ZPC Kariba settled for a drab draw in their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Bata Stadium yesterday.

Washington Navaya and Collin Muleya were on target for TelOne FC and ZPC Kariba respectively.

TelOne went ahead in the 5th minute through Navaya, who tapped the ball home after poor goalkeeping by Tatenda Munditi.

But the Wi-Fi Boys were forced to change their game plan after Collins Chidomaya was withdrawn due to an injury after 11 minutes.

ZPC Kariba clawed back into the game and restored parity in the 18th minute through Muleya, who benefited from another goalkeeping  error by Cris Mverechena who spilled a hapless free-kick from outside the box.

There was nothing to write home about in the second half and both sets of coaches were disappointed with the result.

TelOne coach Herbert Maruwa said his team had performed below par.

“I am not happy with the performance. We scored a good first half goal but then we failed to hold on.

“We have not won at home but now that we are picking points, it is better for us. It is a gradual process for us. I hope we are going to start winning at home and away as well,” Maruwa said.

His counterpart Newton Chitewe was also disappointed with the result as he had targeted to get maximum points in the match.

“I am not happy because of the result. We came here because we wanted to collect maximum points. These are the teams we should beat. However, point is better than losing. We hope for the better in the future," he said.
